Custom Decks Built for Fayetteville Homes
Fayetteville has the most military families of any market we serve, which means a lot of decks are built with resale in mind. A well-built deck or covered deck is one of the few outdoor projects that reliably shows up in an appraisal, and we build to the inspection standard, not just to look good on day one.
We build pressure-treated wood and composite decks, multi-level and pool decks, and covered and enclosed decks with the roof tied into your house and flashed so it never leaks. Every deck gets footings below the frost line, a properly flashed ledger board, and code-compliant railings and stairs.
Permits and Inspections in Cumberland County
An attached deck in Fayetteville needs a building permit and footing, framing and final inspections from the City of Fayetteville or Cumberland County Inspections, depending on the address. We submit the application the week you sign, meet the inspector at each stage, and prepare any drawings your HOA or architectural review board asks for. Permit turnaround is usually the longest part of the schedule, so we start it first.
Wood or Composite?
Pressure-treated pine is the most affordable option and looks great with a stain every few years. Composite decking from Trex or TimberTech costs more up front but never needs staining, will not splinter and stands up to Sandhills humidity. We price both side by side so you can decide.
Covered and Enclosed Decks
Shade matters here from May through September. A covered deck adds a shingle or metal roof over part or all of the deck; an enclosed deck adds screen panels and a screen door so you can sit outside at dusk without mosquitoes. Many of our Fayetteville projects combine an enclosed section off the back door with an open deck beyond it for the grill. If you already have a covered deck or porch, we can screen it in; we do not pour concrete, so any slab has to already be there.
